Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Training is offered from our Newcastle upon Tyne location.
OSINT is the practice of gathering, analysing and utilising information that is in the public domain.
Our OSINT training is delivered by Leonida Reitano, an experienced Socialinks and Maltego instructor. Leonida is the founder and Chairman of the Italian Association of Investigative Journalism (AGI). An expert on personal digital security and Open Source Intelligence he wrote "Esplorare Internet" the first Italian handbook on Open Source Intelligence.
As chairman of the organisation, he taught several courses in investigative journalism, computer security, open-source intelligence, and investigative techniques. Along with other journalists, he won the Best International Crime Report (BIOCR) for the investigation Toxic Europe: the first Italian Investigation made by using Open Source Intelligence Techniques. He has trained hundreds of individuals: police officers, corporate investigators, intelligence analysts, fraud analysts, journalists, and private investigators. Among the companies whose employees he trained, there are Kroll, Unicredit, Agusta-Westland, Admiral Group, ACFE, RCS Mediagroup, and the Counterterrorism branch of the Italian National Police. He has also taught many college courses related to Personal Digital Security, OSINT, and Data Journalism and he has been invited as a speaker at several national and international conferences His book, "Esplorare Internet" has been a top seller in Italy and has been used as a handbook by several public and private organizations.
The basic Maltego training program will teach participants a systematical, methodological approach to design, set up, and conduct investigations through open sources. We will show practical, hands-on training that will give the students all the skills and tools they need to do effective Open Source Intelligence research and analysis achieving good, reliable results. Participants will return home with all the abilities they need to execute a correct Internet Search by using Maltego and several transform sets.
