Launching in January 2026: A New Era in Technical Surveillance Training
We are excited to announce that from January 2026, SIASS will be launching a brand-new programme of Commercial Technical Surveillance and Commercial Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) training. This initiative represents a significant advancement in the field of technical surveillance education.
For some time, our colleagues at Verrimus have received numerous inquiries regarding the provision of Commercial TSCM instruction. While Verrimus will continue to focus exclusively on delivering operational TSCM training to their established client base of military, police, and government teams, they will now collaborate with SIASS to design and deliver courses for the commercial and public sectors.
These new courses will be tailored to raise awareness of technical surveillance threats and to help commercial TSCM operators obtain, develop, and enhance their skills in this increasingly important field.
A New Chapter in Technical Surveillance Training
Alongside our established services in conducting technical surveillance and providing technical surveillance support, SIASS will now also offer workshops and structured courses to those working in the commercial and public sectors. This includes registered social landlords, councils, housing associations, and other organisations that may need to develop or manage covert observation capabilities.
Our training will blend technical knowledge, operational understanding, and experiential learning, enabling delegates to:
Understand and recognise technical surveillance threats.
Plan and manage covert observation operations safely and lawfully.
Enhance their existing technical surveillance and TSCM skillsets.
Gain hands-on experience with the tools, techniques, and technologies used in professional surveillance work.
Designed Around You: Tailored Training Solutions
We already have a range of course modules in place, developed after consultation with our current clients. However, this launch marks the beginning of an open collaboration with the wider surveillance and investigation community.
If you are involved in commercial technical surveillance, or your role involves arranging or managing covert investigations, this is your opportunity to help shape the training you truly need. Perhaps you have identified a gap in the training currently available. This may pertain to practical TSCM application, surveillance planning, covert equipment deployment, or operational management. We want to hear from you.
Just like our colleagues at the Verrimus TSCM Training Facility, our approach will be firmly grounded in experiential learning. There will be a strong emphasis on realism, practical exercises, and outcomes that match the operational demands faced by commercial practitioners.
Tell Us What You Need: Your Input Matters
Our goal is simple: to deliver meaningful, relevant, and practical training that empowers professionals to detect, counter, plan, and conduct technical surveillance with confidence and competence.
If you are a TSCM operator, investigator, security professional, or manager responsible for covert operations, we invite you to get in touch and share your insights. What training do you need? What is missing from the current landscape? How can we assist you in filling that gap?
Your feedback will be instrumental in refining and tailoring our upcoming course schedule to meet the real-world needs of the sector.

The Importance of Technical Surveillance in Today’s Environment
In the contemporary landscape, the significance of technical surveillance cannot be overstated. With the rise of sophisticated threats, organisations must be equipped to identify and mitigate risks effectively. This training programme aims to address these challenges head-on.
Understanding Technical Surveillance Threats
Technical surveillance threats can manifest in various forms. These may include electronic eavesdropping, unauthorised access to sensitive information, and other covert operations that compromise security. Understanding these threats is the first step in developing effective countermeasures.
Planning and Managing Covert Operations
Effective planning is crucial in managing covert operations. This involves not only the strategic deployment of resources but also ensuring compliance with legal frameworks. Our training will provide participants with the tools necessary to navigate these complexities.
Enhancing Skills in Technical Surveillance
The field of technical surveillance is continually evolving. As such, it is imperative for professionals to enhance their skills regularly. Our courses will focus on the latest techniques and technologies, ensuring that participants remain at the forefront of the industry.
Conclusion: A Call to Action
In conclusion, the launch of the Commercial Technical Surveillance and TSCM Training programme in January 2026 represents a pivotal moment for professionals in the field. By engaging with us, you can help shape a training curriculum that meets the evolving demands of technical surveillance. Your participation is invaluable as we strive to set new benchmarks in surveillance education.
