Fraudulent Compensation Claims

Writer: SIASSSIASS

Workplace accidents happen. For those genuinely injured in the workplace, compensation should always be made. However, how do companies deal with false, exaggerated or bogus claims?

SIASS have been involved in a number of cases of suspected employee fraudulent compensation claims. Just like the one in the linked article below, we have conducted surveillance operations on behalf of employers.

Just a few examples;

  • An employee who had severe anxiety resulting in her being housebound, evidenced attending numerous social events.

  • An employee off sick but working full time as a bar manager.

  • An employee unable to walk due to a workplace fall, who was evidenced attending and participating in a zumba class.

  • An employee unable to work due to stress who was setting up their own competing business.
