Newcastle Private Investigator - Breaking the Stereotype

Updated: Jul 12

Sadly, the public's view of a Newcastle Private Investigator tends to be an amalgamation of Jimmy Nail's Detective Spender character, mixed with a dose of Ant and Dec-like Geordie mischief, a pinch of Brenda Blethin's Vera grumpiness and a leather jacket or shiny suit!

Luckily for all of our clients, SIASS are breaking this stereotype!

  • We don't operate from a dark and dingy office, with our name stencilled on the smoky-glass door.

  • We aren't a one man operation.

  • We don't wear shiny suits or leather jackets (though the jacket may be worn on a chopper, cruising through the Northumberland scenery, by one of our Directors!).

  • We don't hang about in bars 'networking' with other PIs and police officers.

  • We don't conduct any illegal activity to achieve our investigative aims.

  • We don't have a bottle of whiskey in our desk drawer!

We are competent professionals who take our work and responsibilities to our client and colleagues very seriously!

The stereotype, continues to endure because most people have never used the services of a private investigator. Though many people may have had a reason to seek their services, the stereotype can be off-putting.

From our experience and client feedback, it seems females are less likely to seek the services of a private investigator because of the stereotype. Female clients who have used our services have told us that they feared being ridiculed, their concerns being dismissed or 'ripped off' by a private investigator. We have had clients (male and female) who have suffered harassment or abuse and they have told us that they resisted the urge to seek professional assistance from a private investigator, because they were worried the service providers wouldn't be discreet or wouldn't take them seriously. We have had organisational clients tell us that they have delayed seeking the services of a private investigator because they were worried the investigator would act illegally. This is something that needs to change!

SIASS is a trading presence of Verrimus, we are a female owned company. Our MD is passionate about equality and embracing diversity. All of our cases and clients are treated equally.

The first step in seeking SIASS private intelligence services is to contact us via our contact form or phone call. From there, if you are able to give a brief outline of your issue we can let you know if we feel we are able to offer you any strategies/services that will meet your requirements.

The next step will be to meet one of our investigative team, either at our (light and airy not dark and smoky!) city centre offices, at a public space you are comfortable with or another location of your choosing. At this stage you can give the investigator further details with which they can go away and draft an investigation strategy for you to consider.

Once we have supplied you with an investigative strategy, costs and timescales, the final decision is yours. There is no hard sell, no persuasion, no problem at all if you feel that you do not wish to embark on the investigation. All investigative strategies are free of charge.
